Governor Abbott issued Executive Order: All Residential Construction Deemed Essential
Governor Abbott just issued his new Executive Order today at 2:00pm that designates “Essential Services” statewide based on the CISA 2.0 guidance that I sent to you on Sunday, March 29th that were released on Saturday, Mach 28th.
This Executive Order is intended to supersede local restrictions/prohibitions on essential services by all local governments. Please see attached and you can visit this website: http://tdem.texas.gov/essentialservices/ .
Many members have called or emailed to inquire about the shutdown of residential construction in Austin and Travis County. The intent of this Executive Order is to supersede local restrictions on ‘Essential Services’ which includes residential construction.
Doug McMurry, the Executive Vice President for the San Antonio Chapter of AGC, shared with me this morning that they have one report of multiple news crews at an active commercial construction site. It is crucial that your employees follow the social distancing guidelines.
